Day 1 - Welcome to Beijing!
Check-in to the 5-star, city-center Sofitel Wanda Hotel.
Day 2 - The splendors of Imperial Beijing
Your full-day sightseeing features Tiananmen Square and the fabled Forbidden City. Browse an open-air market and help your guide to pick-out fresh produce, which you’ll present to your hosts on a Hutong Tour, exploring by rickshaw through this ancient city enclave and spending time with a resident family. Day 3 - The Great Wall of China
Explore atop the Great Wall and walk along the statue-lined Sacred Way to visit the Ming Tombsc. See the iconic Olympic venues en route to your hotel. Meals B,
Day 4 - From Summer Palace to 5-star ship
Visit the magnificent Summer Palace, erstwhile retreat of royalty, and then fly to Yichang to board the intimate 5-star MS Yangzi Explorer. Meals B
Day 5 - The immense Three Gorges Dam
Enjoy morning Tai Chi, enlightening talks and cultural presentations. After lunch onboard, visit theThree Gorges Dam, the largest in the world. Return to ship as the Explorer enters scenic Xiling Gorge, longest of the Three Gorges. Meals B,L,D
Day 6 - Up Shennong Stream and through the Yangtze Gorges
Step off ship and journey by traditional sampan up a rushing stream into the Lesser Gorges. Back onboard, admire the breathtaking scenery as you sail through fabled Wu Gorge and spectacular Qutang Gorge, narrowest of the three. Meals B,L,D
Day 7 - Ashore in Fengdu
Visit ancient temples in the “Ghost City” of Fengdu and return to ship for lunch and a leisuely enriching afternoon of cruising. Meals B,L,D
Day 8 - Onward to the ancient capital
Disembark your ship in Chonging and visit the Panda Hall before your flight to Xian. Enjoy a twilight walking tour with your guide through the bustling streets. Overnight at the luxurious Shangri-La Golden Flower Hotel. Meals B,L
Day 9 - Out and about in Xian
Marvel at China’s greatest archaeological discovery, the Terra Cotta Warriors, and visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda. At lunch, observe the art of noodle making. Meals B,L
Day 10 - Delightful Shanghai!
Fly to Shanghai where you’ll be met and escorted to the 5-star Hilton Hotel. Then step out with your guide to explore the historic French Concession, close-by to your hotel. Meals B
Day 11 - Explore the city
In-depth sightseeing begins along the waterfront Bund and continues into vibrant Pudong. Visit the lovely Yu Yuan Garden and behold the amazing collections of the highly respected Shanghai Museum. Meals B,L
