The Forbidden City, 250-acre city began construction in 1406 during the Ming dynasty is the largest and most complete ancient imperial palace in the world, with more than 800 buildings and 9,000 rooms.  Home to 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties and the City was off-limit to commoners.

The Great Wall is to only man-made structure visible from space, began construction in 7th century B.C.  The Great Wall was built to keep out the warring invaders of the north.  The total length nearly 4,000 miles long.
